In 1673, Father Marquette and his companion Louis Joliet would have gazed on the area of Cassville as they traveled down the Mississippi to the entrance for the Arkansas River. Then in the 1830's, Blessed Fr. Samuel Mazzuchelli ministered to families in southwestern Wisconsin. He did much to inspire the establishment of parishes in this area of Wisconsin along with other priests from Prairie du Chien and Potosi. The first Mass was celebrated in the Cassville area in 1852 and the parish was established in 1852. While St. Charles' wasn't officially established by Fr. Mazzuchelli, it continues his mission of bringing Christ and the sacraments to people in this historic area of Wisconsin.
A very sincere, heartfelt THANK YOU to all that helped with providing goods, for the Small Raffle, Farmers Market, and Silent Auction, and THOSE WHO WORKED THEIR SCHEDULED SHIFT! Your dedication for working your shift makes this day so very successful.
A Huge Thank You to all the festival activity Chairpersons for the many, many hours spent in preparation and the day of the festival. Thank You to everyone who brought in homemade sweetcorn, cakes, pies, fruit salad. Donations of candy, Bubblr, Pop, Gatorade, and stuffed animals for the games, your support for the festival does not go unnoticed!!
Our parish is also so very grateful to the American Legion, VFW, & Royal Neighbors members and to Roger and Ted Guthrie for providing tents, set-up, and tear-down for our festival. The service you all provide is so very crucial to our festival. Perhaps the most important THANK YOU goes out to local community members, surrounding community members, and those from afar, that visited our Fall Festival. St. Charles Church is so very appreciative for your fellowship and thanksgiving.
